The Department of Industrial Art and Design believes that Education and training in industrial art and design is the solution to human basic needs through innovative problem-solving. Industrial designers put more emphasis on the visual representation of their ideas through specified drawings and technology for production processes. Ultimately, the program provides a foundation for the learners to become self-reliant designers and career development oriented.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
To produce professional self-motivated Industrial Designers capable of developing and interpreting design concepts.
2. To develop the student’s intellectual and physical capabilities by exposing students to a variety of concepts and practical experiences to meet the demands for the design and production of industrial products for both local and international businesses.
3. To develop practical skills in the use of local materials, tools and production techniques with a view to enhancing their relevance in current production processes.
To carry out research and understand the principles and elements of design and their use in product design and development.
