Quality Should Always Be The Principal Consideration When Developing Standard Examinations

Kampala University Staff from respective Campuses ie Ggaba, Luweero, Jinja, Masaka and Mutundwe, assembled at Ggaba Main Campus for a two days’ workshop (18th-19th July 2023) organized by the University Examinations Department  to brainstorm deeper on a number of guiding principles and procedures that members can carefully continue to observe as far as setting standard Exams is concerned.

As she was giving the opening remarks, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Dr.Wardah M Rajab Gyagenda encouraged staff to always think about quality as a principal and cardinal consideration as far as developing Exams for the learners is concerned.

The workshop centered on the guidelines for preparing /setting standard examination papers, awarding of marks, an overview of assessment of learning, setting more examination papers for the University question bank among others.

The facilitators of the workshop include but not limited to Dr.Luyima Jimmy, Dr.Nathan Wakhungu, Mr.Levi Tukacungura, Rev Basome Samson, Quality Assurance Department, AR, DVC etcetera.

Through different interactive segments, a lot of brilliant ideas and powerful views were recorded from members of staff who certainly made selfless submissions for the good and development of Kampala University.

This workshop is one of the many strides and preparations the University has made during the holidays as it is organizing to receive students for the August intake that is officially starting on the 1st of August 2023 at all its respective campuses starting at 8am.
