
New Semester Kicks Off in Style
The new semester at Kampala University kicked off on the 1st day of August 2023 with zeal and zest across all the five University’s Campuses for both fresh and continuing students.
All new students have been ushered in with a fully loaded orientation program that has enabled them to get acquainted with the dos and don’ts, policies and procedures of the University. A number of topics were introduced to these young men and Women that included but not limited to, a successful Academic Journey in University, History, Vision and Mission of Kampala University, Accommodation and dealing with Roommates, overcoming vices in Tertiary Institutions, A fresher’s life-an exciting and adventurous journey, student leadership, Examinations rules and regulations, Making a success of your stay in Kampala University and Students’ Code of Conduct, and students’ Quality Assurance practice to mention but a few.
In her speech, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (ARII) Dr.Wardah M Rajab Gyagenda who represented the Vice-Chancellor welcomed the new blood in the University and encouraged them to work hard and stay focused on their goals. Let us make this new academic year special with a relentless thirst for knowledge. Best wishes for your University experience! Dr. Wardah said.
Among other staff members who addressed the new students were Mr.Hamza Segawa the Academic Registrar, Director Quality Assurance Dr.Chris Kirunda, the Chief Accountant Mr.Derrick Adibo, the Public Relations Officer Mr.Julius Ssekatawa, the Dean of Students Mr.Mugalu Augustine, the IT Manager Mrs.Lydia Nakimbugwe , all the different Dean of Schools ,the Marketing Department represented by Mr.Kaaya Vicent, QA Officer Mrs Faridah Nabula, Mr.Okoth Charles, Mr.Augustine Olowo, Mrs.Mastula, security Department represented by Mr.Alisen Tushabwomwe, the Guild President H.E Namale Esther Florence and her entire Cabinet that played a great role, and students’ Association Heads.
The Dean of Students Mr.Mugalu notified new entrants that the University is important and has a big impact on people’s lives, it teaches you the fundamentals of life and assists you in setting goals.
