Kampala University Community Sends Warm Wishes for Vice-Chancellor's Speedy Recovery

The Kampala University Management, in unison with Staff, Students and the entire University community, takes the chance to express their heartfelt wishes for the swift, smooth and complete recovery of their lovely and esteemed founding Vice-Chancellor Owek.Amb. Al-Haj Prof. Badru D.Kateregga.

Since news of the Vice-Chancellor's illness popped in, messages of support and encouragement have been pouring in from every corner of the University.

As a community, we extend our thoughts and prayers to you our Vice-Chancellor and the family during this challenging time. We remain hopeful for your quick recovery and eagerly anticipate your return to the University.

Vice-Chancellor, your love for the Kampala University Community and all stakeholders is enormous. That is why even on the 5th day of October 2024, it was much manifested; you decided to go to Jinja Campus to welcome the Buganda Premier, Owekitiibwa Charles Peter Mayiga, regardless of your ill condition.

Much as you are still under strong medication, you sacrificed and boarded the KU1-V8 with two medical doctors and your Children accompanying you to monitor your condition on the way to Jinja and at the function. You didn’t mind about the long journey and potholes on the way, but for your guests and students, it was a big gesture.
Someone would have said that let him first recover, but you didn’t wait.

At the function, the Vice-Chancellor introduced to all and sundry his lovely children who have been staying abroad and said they are now back to take center stage in the management and administration of the mighty Kampala University. “Dear Owekitiibwa Katikkiro and everyone gathered here, it is my pleasure to introduce to you my children who have been staying overseas, who from today and onwards will be managing this institution to the greater horizons,” Prof said.

He informed members of staff that his children have not come to take over their jobs because they have theirs and they’re well off, so be comfortable with them and highly accord them the necessary support possible.

Staff members continue to share their appreciation for the Vice-Chancellor's dedication to fostering a vibrant and inclusive academic environment. Students too, have expressed their admiration and gratitude for the support and inspiration provided by Prof. Kateregga, who is apparently still under Medical care.

The Vice-Chancellor is a pivotal figure in advancing Kampala University’s mission; so, Prof your leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our university have greatly impacted us all, we deeply appreciate your contributions and your absence has been felt across all campuses.

We look forward to your return to good health, GET WELL SOON.
