
Kampala University Triumphs Over KIU to Secure Quarter-Final Spot in Pepsi University League
Kampala University (KU) secured a 2-1 victory over Kampala International University (KIU) to book their place in the quarterfinals of the Pepsi University Football League.
The thrilling encounter, played at KIU’s home ground, saw both teams display high levels of intensity as they battled for a crucial win.
KU’s solid performance ultimately proved decisive, keeping their opponents at bay and earning them a well-deserved spot in the next round.
The visitors wasted no time asserting dominance, scoring two well-executed goals in the first half, which put immediate pressure on the hosts. KIU managed to pull one back in the 75th minute, raising their hopes of a comeback; however, KU was so solid to crack. Despite KIU’s late aggressive push, KU’s defence stood firm, denying their opponents any chance of an equaliser.
With this victory, Kampala University progresses to the quarterfinals, further strengthening their reputation as a formidable force in the competition.
KU’s coach, Mr. Tumusiime Vicent, aka manager Titi Camara, commended his team’s tactical discipline and resilience. KU now shifts focus to the next stage, eager to extend their winning run and chase the coveted championship title.
