Welcome to Ggaba Main Campus – The Heart of Kampala University.
Nestled on the serene shores of Lake Victoria, just seven kilometres from the bustling heart of Kampala City, Ggaba Main Campus stands as the flagship campus of Kampala University. Established in 1999 by Owek.Al-haj Amb.Prof.Badru Dungu Kateregga, it is located at Ggaba along Kawuku Lane, Makindye Division-Kampala, and represents the founding ground of the university’s vision of academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement.
Ggaba Main Campus is a vibrant academic hub, home to all faculties and schools of Kampala University. From humanities and social sciences to business and management and cutting-edge programmes in science, technology, and engineering, the campus offers a multidisciplinary learning environment that nurtures critical thinking and practical skills.
A distinctive feature of the campus is the Kampala Film School, a one-of-a-kind school in Uganda dedicated to training the next generation of filmmakers and media professionals. Complementing this is 99.2 FM, the university’s student-run radio station, which provides hands-on training for students in journalism and mass communication.
