As of February 2025, KU announced that applications for new students remain open as the semester begins. The university continues to provide opportunities for prospective students to join its diverse programmes across various disciplines, including Oil and Gas Management, Journalism and Mass Communication, Computer Science and IT, Film Making, Industrial Art and Design, Guidance and Counseling, Islamic Banking, Diplomacy and International Relations, Business Administration, Nursing, and Midwifery, among others. KU has five campuses strategically located across Uganda: Main Campus – Ggaba, Luweero Campus, Jinja Campus, Masaka Campus, and Mutundwe Campus.
