Students Leadership and Association

Kampala University fosters a vibrant student life by encouraging participation in various leadership roles and associations that cater to diverse interests and professional development.

Students Leadership:

The university supports student governance through bodies such as the Student Guild, which represents the student body and liaises with the university administration on matters affecting students. The Student Guild is instrumental in organising events, addressing student concerns, and enhancing the overall student experience. Additionally, leadership opportunities extend to various student associations and clubs, allowing students to develop organisational and leadership skills.

Each campus elects their own Guild Councils, but all these operate under the main leadership that sits at the Main Campus, Ggaba. The Guild leadership is headed by the Guild President, who is elected by the entire Kampala University student body and sits at the university’s main campus in Ggaba. The Council is composed of Ministers, Members of Parliament, Coordinators and Association heads.

Student Associations and Clubs:

Kampala University hosts a variety of student associations and clubs that cater to academic, cultural, and recreational interests. These organisations provide platforms for students to engage in extracurricular activities, network with peers, and develop skills outside the classroom. Examples include academic clubs related to specific fields of study, cultural associations representing different ethnic groups, and interest-based clubs focusing on activities like debate, music, or entrepreneurship.

Participation in these associations and clubs not only enriches the university experience but also fosters a sense of community and belonging among students. For detailed information on specific associations, their activities, and how to join, students are encouraged to contact the Student Affairs Office or visit the university's official website.

Engaging in student leadership and associations at Kampala University offers valuable opportunities for personal growth, professional development, and community building.
