Guidance And Counseling
The Guidance and Counseling program was established as a critical response to the devastating effects of major epidemics, particularly the HIV/AIDS crisis, which profoundly impacted individuals, families, districts, and entire nations. These epidemics not only resulted in significant loss of life but also caused deep social and psychological challenges, leaving many communities grappling with grief, stigma, and emotional distress.
Recognizing the urgent need for compassionate and professional support, this program was developed to train skilled counselors capable of providing holistic guidance and psychological assistance to affected populations. Our curriculum focuses on equipping students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in counseling techniques, crisis intervention, and community outreach. Graduates of the program are empowered to serve as frontline responders who offer emotional support, promote mental well-being, and facilitate healing in vulnerable communities.
Through a combination of academic rigor and community engagement, the program aims to build a cadre of professionals dedicated to fostering resilience, reducing stigma, and improving the overall quality of life for individuals and families affected by epidemics and other social challenges.
