Dr. Jean Bosco Binenwa is an esteemed academic and administrator with extensive expertise in public administration, research, and higher education management. He holds a PhD in Management Sciences (Public Administration) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and brings over 15 years of experience in teaching, research, consultancy, and academic leadership across East and Central Africa.
Since 2013, Prof. Binenwa has served as Director of both the Graduate School and Research Directorate at Kampala University, where he also oversees operations at the Mutundwe Campus. His contributions include initiating postgraduate collaborations, reviewing graduate curricula, supervising master's theses, and strengthening research networks across Africa.
He is an external examiner for doctoral theses at institutions such as the British American University (USA) and the University of KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa). His teaching expertise spans advanced research methodology, public policy, conflict management, and peace studies.
Dr. Binenwa is a published scholar with over a dozen peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters addressing issues such as civic participation, peacebuilding, gender-based violence, and media's role in development. He has also led and participated in numerous high-impact consultancy projects focused on governance, corruption, social accountability, and reconciliation—collaborating with organizations like Transparency International, the Rwanda Civil Service Commission, and the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission.
He is the national representative of the CEDIMES Institute (France) and a co-founder of peace and social development initiatives in Rwanda. His academic and community work is characterized by a strong commitment to equity, ethical leadership, and capacity building in Africa.
