Dembe FM’s Cheza Show Brings Live Radio And Practical Learning To Kampala University

Kampala University’s Ggaba Main Campus buzzed with excitement on 20 August 2026 when Dembe 90.4 FM’s popular presenter, Kim Morgan, also known as Kim Morgan Sr, visited the University for a live broadcast of the station’s Cheza show.

The lively activation blended entertainment with practical learning, giving Journalism and Mass Communication students an opportunity to witness professional radio presentation firsthand. Students observed how a presenter engages an audience, manages the flow of a programme and keeps listeners entertained.

Beyond enjoying the show, students participated by sending greetings to their relatives and friends live on air. Their involvement brought a personal touch to the broadcast, connecting the University community with Dembe FM listeners beyond the campus.

The visit also enabled Dembe FM to bring radio closer to the people, particularly university students, through direct interaction and shared experiences.

Kampala University Management expressed appreciation to Dembe FM for the initiative, recognising its contribution to students’ exposure to professional broadcasting. The event demonstrated the value of partnerships between universities and media organisations in enriching learning through practical experience.

The successful Cheza activation strengthened the relationship between Kampala University and Dembe FM, opening opportunities for continued cooperation in student training, entertainment and community engagement.
