Hajjat Shania Kigozi Appointed Corporate Brand Ambassador for Kampala University
Kampala University has officially appointed Hajjat Shania Kigozi, the Country Director of One Ummah Uganda, as its Corporate Brand Ambassador, in a move that underscores the institution’s assurance to humanitarian service, community engagement, and social transformation.
The appointment was made by the Founding Vice-Chancellor of Kampala University, Owek. Amb. Al-Haj Prof. Badru Kateregga, who praised Hajjat Shania for her solid loyalty to philanthropy, kindness, and service to humanity. He noted that her values and life work strongly resonate with the culture and ideology of Kampala University.
While requesting her to take up this role, Prof. Kateregga praised Hajjat Shania for being a hardworking philanthropist who has consistently and wholeheartedly served the Ummah. He emphasized that her charitable deeds align closely with Kampala University’s long-standing tradition of giving back to society through bursaries and scholarships awarded to students from diverse backgrounds through religious leaders, civil servants, politicians, cultural institutions, different organizations, since the university’s inception.
Hajjat Shania Kigozi is widely recognized for her extensive humanitarian work across the country. She is known for organizing and directly distributing Zakah to beneficiaries, with a strong focus on food relief, school fees, and medical support. Her initiatives have supported countless orphans and vulnerable families, earning her the respected title of a “mother of orphans.” In addition, she has spearheaded charitable development projects such as the construction of water sources and mosques in various parts of the country.
Beyond her humanitarian engagements, Hajjat Shania is the founder of Polygamy Dialogue Uganda and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Jilbab House, further highlighting her leadership and influence in both social and business spheres.
In her response, Hajjat Shania Kigozi expressed gratitude for the trust bestowed upon her and happily accepted the appointment. She pledged to continue supporting Kampala University in various capacities, as she has done previously, and reiterated her commitment to advancing education, humanitarian outreach, and community development.
Kampala University will work closely with Hajjat Shania Kigozi in implementing a range of humanitarian and community-based initiatives, strengthening the partnership between academia and social responsibility for the greater good of society.
