Kampala University Backs Vinka’s ‘Live & Loud’ Concert with UGX 5 Million
KAMPALA, UGANDA:18th August 2026 , Kampala University has reiterated its commitment to promoting and supporting Ugandan talent after contributing UGX 5 million towards popular Ugandan musician Vinka’s highly anticipated concert, Vinka Live & Loud, scheduled for Friday, August 21, 2026, at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
The contribution was presented by the Kampala University Founding Vice-Chancellor, Owek. Amb. Al-Haj Prof. Badru D. Kateregga at the Main Campus in Ggaba, on behalf of the University, in a gesture that underscores the institution’s assurance to empowering young people, promoting creativity and supporting the growth of Uganda’s entertainment industry.

Speaking during the handover, Prof. Kateregga applauded Vinka for her continued friendship and loyalty to Kampala University, describing her as a valued friend and a strong brand ambassador for the institution.
“Vinka has been a good friend of Kampala University and a valued Brand Ambassador for our institution. We greatly appreciate your loyalty to Kampala University, and that is why we have decided to support you as well. You mean a lot to us,” Prof. Kateregga said.
The Founding Vice-Chancellor further emphasized that supporting talent is an important part of Kampala University’s wider commitment to empowering young people and contributing to the development of Uganda’s creative industry.

Prof. Kateregga also used the occasion to encourage young Ugandans to embrace the spirit of generosity, teamwork and mutual support, stressing that success is strengthened when individuals and institutions support one another.
He called upon Ugandans, friends of Uganda and all music lovers to turn up in large numbers for Vinka Live & Loud and support the artiste as she celebrates her musical journey and entertains her fans.
