Kampala University Gives Bishop Stuart University a Bloody Nose In The University Football League
Two-time Pepsi University Football League champions Kampala University scored two late goals to defeat Bishop Stuart University 2-1 in Group F action at the Luzira grounds.
Goals from Wabomba Emmanuel and Namondo Collins in the 86th and 88th minute turned the tie around after Bishop Stuart University took the lead through an Arinda Rodgers 10th-minute strike.
Bishop Stuart's head coach, Farouk Karungi, says that the lack of concentration cost his side three points today but aims to bounce back stronger.
"We lost the concentration and failed to stick to the game plan, and that cost us the game, but we shall head back to the drawing board and come back stronger,” Karungi said after the game.
Kampala University head Coach Vincent Tumusiime alias Titi Camara credited his side for sticking to the game plan for the win despite trailing for most of the game.
"We had to reshuffle our midfield in the second half to gain control of the midfield, and it paid off in the second half,” Tumusiime said.
"It was a challenging game, as the first game is usually tricky, so we had to come up with solutions in the second half to help us win," Titi added.
Kampala University will soon meet ISABAT University for their second game.
