Kampala University Holds a Stunning Cultural Gala
Kampala University students made a diverse display of talents during the 11th Edition of the Cultural Gala organized at the University's Nursing and Health Sciences School located at Mutundwe.
Over 21 Students Associations from the five Campuses of Kampala University sent able and powerful delegations to participate in this year's Gala and what the crowd witnessed was spectacular and splendid performances only. The zeal, Creativity, love, togetherness, joy and solidarity exhibited was equal to non , and was the priority and order of the day throughout the four days event that started on Wednesday 27th up to Saturday 30th September 2023, rotating on the theme "Cultural Identify , is a Sense of belonging".
With much love and fondness, Students participated in traditional dances, singing the University Anthem, folk songs , poems, all emanating from their respective Cultural values and norms. As if that wasn't enough, students participated in the modeling slot where they exhibited their best in the casual outfits, Office wear, dinner wear, creative wear and traditional wear.
The pageant was spiced by the vocal SPICE DIANA who brought more life , love and glamour in the event. Her trending "Siri Regular hit" didn't leave the University Vice-Chancellor Seated, Owek.Amb. Al-haj Prof. Badru Kateregga pulled out a bundle of cash and joined SPICE in dancing as Students were really enjoying every moment.
Nkobazambogo Students Associations from Ggaba Campus emerged the best and won a bull whereas Zambogo Jinja Campus booked the second seat with a he-goat.
Mr.Katamba M from the Nursing School emerged as Mr. Culture and Mr.Wandahwa Emmanuel from Luweero Campus as the second runners up.
Birungi Linda emerged as Miss Culture from Jinja Campus and Akankunda Rachel from Luweero Campus as the second runners up.
All were gifted with heavy envelopes from management.
The event was attended by the Rector Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) as a special Guest Prof Ismael Gyagenda Ssimbwa, the University Vice-Chancellor Owek.Amb.Al-haj Prof. Badru Kateregga who notified students that the essence of Cultural Galas is to develop talents, respect Culture, to instill discipline, to be imaginative, creative and so on. The University Deputy Vice-Chancellor Dr.Wardah Rajab M Gyagenda , the Director Finance and Marketing, Campus Directors and top University Official s also attended the feast.
