Kampala, Uganda | 13th October 2026
Kampala University is set to host its highly anticipated Annual Cultural Gala from 21st to 24th October 2026 at the University’s Mutundwe Campus, bringing together students from all five campuses to celebrate Uganda’s rich cultural diversity, heritage and creativity.
The four-day cultural extravaganza will bring together students from Ggaba Main Campus, Masaka Campus, Mutundwe Campus, Jinja Campus and Luweero Campus, providing a platform for students to showcase and appreciate the diverse cultural traditions represented within the University community.
The Cultural Gala will feature a vibrant programme of traditional dances, folk songs, poetry performances and presentations of the Kampala University Anthem, giving students an opportunity to express their cultural identity while promoting unity, friendship and social interaction among the different student communities.
A major highlight of the gala will be the student modelling session, which will showcase creativity and confidence through different categories of fashion and presentation. Students will model in cultural attire, casual wear, office wear, dinner wear and creative wear, demonstrating how culture, fashion and innovation can be brought together on one platform.
Outstanding performers and participants will be recognised, with prizes awarded to exceptional models and the best-performing student associations, adding a competitive and exciting dimension to the celebrations.
The University is also honoured to announce that its Founding Vice Chancellor, Ambassador Al-Haj Prof. Badru D. Kateregga, will grace the final day of the Cultural Gala as the Chief Guest, bringing distinction and prestige to the celebrations.
Beyond entertainment, the Cultural Gala is expected to strengthen unity, cultural appreciation, student engagement and community spirit across Kampala University. It will provide an opportunity for students and members of the University community to learn from one another while celebrating the cultural richness that defines the institution.
The gala promises a memorable experience filled with culture, music, entertainment, fashion and community engagement, and Kampala University warmly invites members of the public to join the University community at Mutundwe Campus for this grand celebration of culture and diversity.
