Opportunity Secured: Kampala University Students Sign Government Study Loan Agreements
Kampala University students awarded government study loans have officially signed their financing agreements with the Higher Education Students Financing Secretariat (HESFS), marking an important milestone in their pursuit of university education.
The signing formalised the beneficiaries’ participation in the government initiative, which supports access to higher education through student loans. HESFS manages the scheme under the Ministry of Education and Sports.

According to the figures provided for this year’s application cycle, 10,615 students applied across Uganda, with 2,790 selected for support. Kampala University congratulates its successful applicants, recognising the significance of securing financing amid considerable demand.
For the beneficiaries, the agreements represent both an opportunity to pursue their academic ambitions and a responsibility to honour the terms of their financing. The support offers a valuable foundation upon which students can build their knowledge, professional skills and future careers.

As a chartered institution, Kampala University is proud to welcome and support students benefiting from the government loan scheme. Their inclusion reflects the importance of partnerships between government and higher education institutions in expanding educational opportunities.
The University encourages the beneficiaries to make full use of this opportunity through consistent attendance, disciplined study and active participation in university life. They are also encouraged to understand their contractual obligations and seek clarification from the relevant offices whenever necessary.

Kampala University extends its appreciation to HESFS and the Ministry of Education and Sports for supporting access to higher education across Uganda. Such financing helps eligible students pursue qualifications that can strengthen their livelihoods and enable them to contribute to national development.
