Prof. Kateregga and Team Raises Uganda Flag High In The 43rd World Scouts Conference

The 43rd Scouts Conference is more than an event; it is a testament to the power of coming together to celebrate differences, learn from one another, and work towards a shared goal of making the world a better place. 

The conference, which has attracted over 2,000 scouts from 176 countries, Uganda is ably represented by a powerful delegation of 6 emissaries commanded by the Chief Scout of Uganda, Amb. Al-Haj Prof. Badru D Kateregga, who also doubles as the Chairman of the National Union of Uganda Muslims Scouts (NUUMS) and the founding Vice-Chancellor of Kampala University. 

Prof. Kateregga and his team, that is comprised of the coordinator of'safe from harm’ Haji Musana Kawanguzi , the Scouts’ Deputy Chief Commissioner Asuman Mugoya, ,Ms. Namukose Jovia the Youth Representative and Mr. Ampumuza Peter a Youth Advisor in charge of the African region, have impressively raised the Uganda flag by fully participating   in this exceptional event that is currently taking place in Cairo, Egypt at the Inter-Continental Hotel City from August 17–24, 2024.

The event has provided a unique opportunity for Scouts to reconnect, collaborate, exchange ideas, and strengthen unity. The conference’s exciting programme has inspired and empowered scouts with thought-provoking plenary sessions and enlightening keynote speeches from prominent leaders. Scouts have engaged in interactive workshops and gatherings that foster collaboration, learning, and innovation, all while exploring dynamic exhibition spaces that showcase the latest advancements and initiatives in Scouting. The conference is a blend of cultural immersion, historical exploration, and scouting activities

The conference was officially opened by His Excellency Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the Al Kuba Presidential Palace and was also attended by H.E.Lt. Gen. Charles Angina, Uganda Ambassador in Cairo, as a special guest.

The Ambassador praised team Uganda for the solidity and sacrifice they exhibited for the good of scouting and their Country in particular.
