Prof. Kateregga Concludes Strategic Courtesy Visits to Kampala University Campuses

The Founding Vice-Chancellor of Kampala University, Owek. Amb. Al-Haj Prof. Badru Dungu Kateregga, has successfully concluded a strategic courtesy tour of all University campuses aimed at strengthening student engagement, promoting academic excellence, and reinforcing the institution’s core values.

The visits, which commenced on Monday, 11th May 2026 at Mutundwe Campus and concluded at the Ggaba Main Campus on 15th May 2026, covered all Kampala University campuses including Mutundwe, Luweero, Masaka, Jinja, and Ggaba Main Campus. During the engagements, Prof. Kateregga met students and staff, delivering messages of guidance, inspiration, knowledge, and wisdom.

Addressing students across the various campuses, Prof. Kateregga reminded them that the primary purpose of joining the University is to acquire knowledge, skills, values, and competencies necessary for leadership and meaningful service to society. He encouraged students to remain focused on their academic goals, attend lectures regularly, respect University regulations, and uphold high standards of discipline, integrity, and responsibility.

The Vice-Chancellor further cautioned students against behaviors that could jeopardize their future, including examination malpractice, drug abuse, violence, and indiscipline. He instead urged them to embrace hard work, unity, patriotism, mutual respect, and positive character as key pillars for personal and professional success.

He also encouraged students to fully utilize the numerous opportunities available at the University, including sports programs, student leadership initiatives, research and innovation platforms, as well as community engagement activities that are designed to nurture holistic development.

Accompanying the Founding Vice-Chancellor during the campus visits were several senior University officials, including the Resident Director and Deputy Chairperson Board of Trustees, Ms. Rashida Kateregga; the Deputy Resident Director, Mr. Faquih Muhammad Kateregga; the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Maboh Michael Nkwati; the University Consultant on Finance and General Duties in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Kamoga Ronald; the University Administrator and Director of protocol Office of the VC, Ms. Naila Florence; the Director Human Resources, Ms. Naisanga Aidah; , the sports Director Mr.Faizal Mubiru, the Internal Auditor, Mr. Eria Kikomeko, among others.

In line with Kampala University’s student-centered philosophy and open-door policy, students at every campus were given an opportunity to freely express their views, ask questions, and interact directly with the University leadership. The engagements created a vibrant platform for dialogue, mentorship, and strengthening the bond between management and the student community.
