The BECD programme prepares students to become professional educators specializing in Early Childhood Education. It equips them with pedagogical skills and knowledge to support young children's holistic development.
Objectives
- Train professionals in Early Childhood Education to work in pre-primary and lower primary schools.
- Develop creative and innovative teaching methodologies for early learners.
- Equip students with skills to assess and support children's growth and learning needs.
- Enhance students' ability to develop and implement an Early Childhood curriculum.

Entry Requirements
Direct Entry: Two principal passes at UACE in relevant subjects.
Diploma Entry: A diploma in Early Childhood Education or Primary Education.
Mature Age Entry: Candidates must be at least 22 years old and pass a mature age examination.
Higher Education Certificate (HEC): Must have passed a relevant HEC accredited by NCHE with a distinction or credit.
