The Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DECE) aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to support young children's holistic development. The programme prepares students for careers as pre-primary teachers, caregivers, and administrators in early childhood education settings.
Objectives
- To train competent professionals in Early Childhood Education (ECE) to enhance early learning.
- To develop pedagogical skills in child-centered learning approaches.
- To equip students with leadership and administrative skills for managing early childhood institutions.
- To impart knowledge on child growth, development, and psychology.

Entry Requirements
- Direct Entry: One principal pass at A’ Level and a subsidiary pass, with at least five credit passes at O’ Level.
- Certificate Entry: A recognized Certificate in Teacher Education (CTE-ECD) or related fields.
- Mature Age Entry: Candidates must be at least 22 years old and have passed a mature age examination from an NCHE-recognized center.
