Kampala University Graduates Shine in the 2026 Parliamentary Elections, Flying the Institution’s Flag High

Kampala, Uganda — Kampala University has once again affirmed its position as a cradle of leadership and national transformation, following the outstanding performance of its alumni in the recently concluded 2026 Parliamentary Elections. Graduates of the institution have emerged victorious across the country, earning the confidence of voters and securing seats in the 12th Parliament of the Republic of Uganda.

The impressive showing reflects the University’s long-standing assurance to national development, leadership grooming, and community impact. Through rigorous academic training and values-based mentorship, Kampala University continues to shape leaders who are prepared to serve with integrity, competence, and vision.

Among the distinguished alumni elected to Parliament are;

  • Hon. Haruna Kasolo, Member of Parliament-elect for Kyotera County and Uganda’s State Minister for Microfinance;
  • Hon. Namatende Eunice, Woman Member of Parliament-elect for Bugiri District and a Lecturer at Kampala University;
  • Hon. Katusiime Jovia, Woman Member of Parliament-elect for Kiryandongo District.
  • Hon. Odwori John, MP-elect for Kagoma North Constituency;
  • Hon. Hajjat Madina Nsereko, MP-elect for Kawempe South Constituency;
  • Hon. Ayagalakyi Mukuve Jamal, MP-elect for Bukooli North County, Bugiri District;
  • Hon. Mutebi Benard Mugoya, MP-elect for Bulamogi Constituency.
  • Hon. Waiswa Azalwa Joel, MP-elect for Busiki Constituency;
  • Hon. Goire Moses, MP-elect for Budaka Constituency;
  • Hon. Kiyimba Emmanuel, MP-elect for Bukoto Midwest Constituency.

The leadership of Kampala University has expressed huge pride in the achievements of these alumni, noting that their success is evidence to the quality of education and leadership training imparted within the University’s lecture theatres.

“As Kampala University, we are extremely proud of our products who diligently passed through our academic and leadership systems and have now risen to this level of national responsibility,” the University noted in a congratulatory message. “We also sincerely appreciate the electorates in the respective constituencies for entrusting our alumni with the mandate to represent their views and aspirations in the National Assembly.”

The University Management emphasized confidence in the newly elected Members of Parliament, describing them as capable leaders equipped with fresh ideas, innovation, and a strong sense of public service, ready to contribute meaningfully to Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.

In a collective message of goodwill, the Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, University Council, Senate, Management, staff, alumni, and continuing students extended heartfelt congratulations to the elected leaders, wishing them success as they embark on their legislative duties.
