Kampala University Staff Chart Fresh Path for August 2025 Intake

On Tuesday, 5th August 2025, Kampala University’s academic community convened at the Ggaba Main Campus for a vibrant and forward-looking staff meeting that set the tone for the August 2025 intake. The gathering, which is a traditional event held at the start of every semester, brought together teaching staff from all the five campuses of the university-Ggaba Main Campus, Jinja, Luweero, Masaka, and Mutundwe.

The meeting was characterized by a spirit of unity, renewed assurance, and a collective determination to maintain Kampala University’s trademark of academic excellence. It served as a platform for lecturers and academic leaders to reflect, share insights, and plan strategically for the new semester, with emphasis placed on innovation, teamwork, and student-centered learning.

Delivering her message through Dr. Wakhungu Nathan, Dean of the School of Arts and Social Sciences, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academics, Research, Innovations, and Internationalization, Dr. Wardah M. Rajab Gyagenda, encouraged the teaching staff to embrace modern and transformative approaches to instruction. She called on lecturers to integrate technology into their teaching practices, to provide hands-on and practical learning opportunities, and to adopt a student-centric approach that prioritizes student needs and feedback.

“Our role as educators is  to impart knowledge, to guide, inspire, and support the students who have entrusted us with their future,” her message read. “Good customer service is central to this mission. Every student deserves to feel valued, supported, and heard. Their feedback is key in shaping how we serve them better.”

In his remarks, the Academic Registrar, Mr. Segawa Ahmed Hamza, emphasized the power of teamwork among lecturers and administrative staff. He noted that the success of the semester depends on collective effort, coordination, and dedication from all staff members. “When we work together, we not only achieve more but also set a strong foundation for the academic and professional success of our students,” he stated.

Also present at the meeting were the Director of Quality Assurance, Prof. Chris W. N. Kirunda, and the Deputy Director of Quality Assurance, Dr. Miiro Anifa, among other distinguished officials. Their attendance underlined the importance the university places on academic quality, professional growth, and institutional accountability.

Lecturers left the meeting inspired and energized, determined to make the August 2025 intake a memorable and impactful semester.
