Kampala International University Mourns the Passing of His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV
Kampala International University (KIU) joins the people of the Tooro Kingdom and the nation of Uganda in mourning the passing of His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, King of Tooro.
The University extends its deepest condolences to the Queen Mother Best Kemigisa, the Royal Family, the people of Tooro Kingdom, and all Ugandans during this period of mourning.
His Majesty will be remembered for his leadership, service and commitment to the advancement of his people. His contribution to education and the welfare of young people was particularly significant, reflecting his belief in the transformative power of education and the ability of Uganda's younger generation to shape the country's future.
His support for education, sports, tourism, culture and national unity also demonstrated a broader commitment to Uganda's social and economic development.
The Board of Trustees, University Council, Senate, Management, Staff and Students of Kampala International University stand in solidarity with the Royal Family and the people of Tooro at this difficult time.
The University prays that Almighty God grants the Queen Mother, the Royal Family, the people of Tooro and all Ugandans strength, courage, peace and comfort.
